We value simplicity. That is why we created a simple style that uses a zipper technique on the side seam of clothing for contracting and expanding to accommodate the growing fetus in the mother’s stomach. The two zippers installed onto the sides of the clothing will enable an increase in surface area when you unzip them. Similarly, when you zip back up, the zip-up is changed back to its original size. This will allow for it to expand to accommodate any size through the stages of pregnancy. Our prototype has the additional benefit of being able to be worn even after the pregnancy is over. It is a simple model that is durable enough to wear in your everyday life so you no longer have to throw your maternity clothes out or give them to others after the baby is born. Multiple prototypes have already been hand manufactured, and we are still working to improve the design to be certain it is satisfactory and suitable for different sizes.
Pregnant women already experience a variety of physical and mental stress in their daily life. Our product seeks to relieve that stress for them by saving them time and money spent on maternity wear. As for reducing physical stress and pain, we aim to decrease the effect of elastic bands on the blood circulation of the mother and the baby. This is accomplished through our expandable design in the side zippers. With adjustable zippers, physical bondage and constraints on the mother and baby will naturally be reduced.
In addition to alleviating the stress on the environment from fast fashion maternity wear waste, our maternity wear is composed of organic RPET material, which stands for recycled polyethylene terephthalate and is produced in the United States. Wonder where your recycled water bottles go? It’s made into our maternity wear!
